Soyuzivka Ukrainian Heritage Center

Welcome to Soyuzivka Ukrainian Heritage Center, a cultural haven nestled in the heart of Kerhonkson, New York, with a rich history dating back to 1952. Established by The Ukrainian National Association, Inc., a venerable fraternal organization with roots tracing back to 1894, Soyuzivka was envisioned as a cultural center and gathering place to cater to the burgeoning needs of its community. This distinguished property serves as a focal point for language workshops, heritage studies, concerts, art exhibits, children’s camps, and various cultural programs. Modeled after the Carpathian mountain architecture, Soyuzivka boasts a distinctive charm, with renowned woodcarver Cherniovsky adorning the buildings with his masterful craftsmanship.

Over the years, Soyuzivka has played host to a myriad of artists, including the likes of Jacque Hnizdovsky, Edward Kozak, and Halyna Mazeppa. These artists not only showcased their works through exhibits, but also generously shared their expertise through workshops, enriching the cultural tapestry of Soyuzivka. Beyond being a venue for artistic expression, Soyuzivka proudly houses important works by preeminent Ukrainian sculptors, commissioned to create busts of prominent literary, historic, political, and religious figures. As a testament to our commitment to preserving and celebrating Ukrainian heritage, Soyuzivka stands as a beacon of cultural enrichment and artistic expression in the picturesque surroundings of Kerhonkson.
