THANKS to ALL who helped make the 69th annual Fair Oaks Fiesta another great event.Dot Boyd - Electronic Caregiver of Sacramento, Board DirectoFAIR OAKS, CA (MPG) - Sunday, May 6 was a Chamber of Commerce “postcard kind of day” for the 69th Annual Fair Oaks Fiesta. Streets were lined with some 275 beautiful classic cars, representing decades of America’s ingenuity and innovation. Plaza Park was filled with all sorts of craft vendors, local businesses, service groups, our two Honorary Mayor candidates and a great vibe. It wouldn't be Fair Oaks Fiesta without the “world famous” Toilet Bowl Race! Thank you goes out to Jim Racy for creating this hilarious, one of a kind race twenty-five years ago. If you’ve never seen it, imagine a toilet mounted on a go-cart style contraption with a rider “sitting on the pot” being pushed by two runners on an obstacle course. Defending champion FO Rec and Park District won again with the speediest racer. A big thank you to our generous sponsors: Kimball Midwest, G and T Truck Repair, SMUD, Safeway, Nautilus Tea Company, Fair Oaks Deli and Fair Oaks Carpet Cleaning. Bob’s Cycle Center and other FOCC members donated raffle prizes valued over $2,000. We could not host such a fantastic event without our numerous volunteers, which included our members, youth ambassadors, Clean & Sober Living, Orangevale Grange, FO Cemetery, FO Rec & Park District, and Del Campo Jr. ROTC. Last but not least, hats off to FOCC Executive Director Kim Pitillo, husband Joe Pitillo and their family for their commitment to the Fiesta and the car show. Here’s to number 70 next year!! Next up: The 25th Annual Taste of Fair Oaks on Friday, June 8th at North Ridge Country Club. Please visit our event calendar at www.fairoakschamber.com See you in Fair Oaks! | |
