A note from your Executive Director

Kimberley Pitillo

FOYO took the live virtual event to a whole new level, and as their mentor I am so very very proud of what they did to help keep the show going. This was a big year for us the 5th annual and as we had plans for an in person event we had to come up with a game plan to still bring it to you and the community. I can not thank Matthew Mason enough as he was the true leader on this special evening, he worked endlessly with filming, editing, designing the awards, and bringing a live event to you. The youth brought all this together in record breaking time with just two weeks of planning. We had a fun week of meeting up with each of the youth at different locations throughout Fair Oaks to showcase how great our little town is. Funny fact on my end, I have lived in Fair Oaks for 23 years and never did I know or have been to the Hazel lookout until Matthew did his filming segment there. When he told me where to meet him, I was like what? where is that? I've never been. WOW! I must have been under a rock all these years. I thought it was a service road and you weren't allowed to drive up there. Once I got there the beauty of looking above our area was breath taking, it's moments like that you will never forget. There are a lot of hidden locations in our community. (Ding: An idea just popped into my head as I am typing this for something in the near future, I will get back on that later).
I want to do a shout out again to these important people that helped make the event great. Ryan Griffith (Voterfly) entire BoFO website designed and maintained by him

On another note that I need to bring to everyone's attention is that Yes, your Executive Director made a little bit of a boo boo that evening. You probably didn't even recognize but we realized after the event. Truly this was an oversight on my end and after double checking this was the only mistake made that evening. This was also the first time in 5 years that we ever had a tie between two companies that actually won with the exact amount of votes tallied. I was looking at the placement of the winners and not the votes tallied so it could have easily been missed. So with that said I want to come clean and do what is right by Congratulating in the category of Best Insurance Services our two winners to Katie Yount - State Farm Insurance (announced) and to Johnathan Spangler of Freedom Insurance Services (I feel horrible I did not recognize him that evening) BUT - he wasn't made at me so that made me feel so much better and neither was Katie even a double bonus. I thank you both for being understanding and I want to blame this on that we are human and we all make mistakes, but I fully own this one as a full oversight on my part.

Again thank you to everyone that supported this event!
