Rep. Dwight Scharnhorst, a Republican, represents part of St. Louis County (District 93) in the Missouri House of Representatives. Elected to the House in 2006, Rep. Scharnhorst is a professional photographer and owner of Scharnhorst Photography Limited in Eureka for 25 years. Previously he worked as a retail manager from 1965-1980. In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Scharnhorst is member of the Fenton Chamber of Commerce, St. Louis County Elks, West St. Louis County Lion’s Club where he serves as chairman of the “Campaign for Sight” Fund Drive. Rep. Scharnhorst also served as President of the Eureka Chamber of Commerce and as a Board member and past president of the Rockwood School’s Foundation and he is also a member of the Rockwood School District Facility Committee where he was on the Point and Steering Committee. Rep. Scharnhorst received a Civic Proclamation from the City of Eureka and the Eureka Chamber of Commerce for his service as President of the Chamber of Commerce. Rep. Scharnhorst successfully attached amendments to Jessica’s Law and the Eminent Domain reform bill before each passed the Missouri House of Representatives during the 2006 legislative session. A 1966 graduate of Northwest High School in St. Louis, Rep. Scharnhorst attended Jefferson College from 1966-1967 and Meramac Community College from 1989 to 1990. Born on November 11, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Rep. Scharnhorst lives in Valley Park and has a son, Ryan and two grandsons, Bryce and Cade.
