garberville.org

As you know, we launched a new website this summer.  It is a website that is interactive with our Chamber Nation membership services.  If you have a website with a link to our site, please be sure that it is updated with the newer link- http://garberville.org/home.htm  The old link just goes to an error code.  The new site is evolving everyday.  I am working on getting every member listed with interactive maps and links to be used by both locals and visitors.  If your business needs to set up a website, there is one available through your membership.  Contact me and I can help get that going!

Dear Business Owner,

We are starting up the holiday season already and making plans for our 8th annual lighted parade on December 20th.  Things are changing a bit this year as we will not be collecting any entry fees and are also adding different categories.

We are, however, looking for sponsors for the new categories.  The attached entry form shows each category and the donation amount for each one. This is an opportunity for your business to be highlighted in all of our advertising.  Our organization has done a lot of things for our community, such as the trees and placing the electrical line underground along main-street in Garberville, two scholarships to graduating seniors, supporting the WISH shelter, student of the month and many others.  This all takes a lot of volunteer hours and is what your donation will help us to continue.   All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501c-3 non-profit organization.  Our federal tax id number is:  91-2665671.

Soroptimist is an international organization that is committed to improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.

We hope you will consider sponsoring our event and if you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 223-8882. If mailing a check, please designate which category you would like to sponsor and send to the address above; attn:  lighted parade.
All categories can have more than one sponsor.  Thank you for your support

Sincerely,

Crystal Arbuthnot

Posting Requirements for California Businesses

Posting Requirements for California Businesses
State and federal regulations require employers to display various posters and notices to inform their employees of certain laws and regulations pertaining to employment and working conditions. Unless otherwise noted, all employers are required to display the posters/notices listed below. However, because specific requirements vary, this list may not include all posters/notices that you are required to display.
The posters are provided free of charge by the agencies; a full list can be found here http://www.taxes.ca.gov/Payroll_Tax/postingreqbus.shtml . Some organizations, including the California Chamber of Commerce sell complete sets of posters, offering such features as laminated and uniform sizes.

GRACOC Board Elections

By now you should have received your Board election ballot in the mail.  Please fill them out and return them to the Chamber office no later than Dec 20.  I was a little late getting them out this year, simply because it is one of the many tasks I am still learning.  Next year, everything will be on time!  Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding!
