Chamber Launches “Tools for Business Success” Online Resource Center
Beginning this month, Chamber members, area businesses and persons wanting to start a business in Glendale will have a one-stop online resource center available to them through the Glendale Chamber’s new “Tools for Business Success” section of our website at www.glendaleazchamber .org. “Tools for Business” provides local, state, federal and best-of-the-web resources to start and/or grow businesses. The site contains a business start-up kit with all the forms to comply with government requirements, links to funding resources, green business practices, business tax incentives, employer resources, online classes and much more. With one click of a button the site and all information are also viewable in Spanish. The creation of the site was made possible by a sponsorship from APS. A short demo on the many features of the site is available at www.toolsforbusiness.info This FREE resource is provided as a courtesy to our members and individuals who are considering opening a small business in Glendale.

Chamber to Host SRP “Bowl Power Lunch” December 2 @Fleming’s

City Seeks Chamber Members to Try New Online Sales Tax Program
The City of Glendale’s Finance Department is seeking Glendale Chamber businesses to try the new city online sales tax filing program prior to its official launch later this year. Approximately 10-20 businesses are need for this trial program to provide feedback to the city and to assist in getting the program implemented. BANNER THUNDERBIRD MEDICAL CENTER TO OFFER A SMOKING CESSATION DAY PROGRAM The Cardiology Support Group at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center will offer a special program on the National Smoke Out Day, November 18th. The goal of the support group is to provide patients and families the opportunity to learn, network and share experiences, support and motivate each other. The smoking cessation presentation will provide information and techniques to assis patients on how to stop tobacco use. CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS IN DOWNTOWN GLENDALE WITH GLENDALE GLITTERS More than 1.5 million lights will illuminate sixteen blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale on Friday and Saturday November 26th and 27th from 5pm to 10pm. It is the largest free holiday light display in Arizona. Visitors of all ages will enjoy entertainment, a variety of foods, handcrafted holiday gifts, a children’s wonderland, horse-drawn carriage rides, shopping and, of course, Santa Claus. The holiday magic continues each weekend until Christmas. Glendale’s Gingerbread Nights will be December 3rd and 4th. Then on December 10th and 11th, it will be Glendale’s Spirit of Giving Weekend. The final holiday celebration in December will be on the 17th and 18th with Jingle Bell Rockin’ Nights. Pursuant to the by-laws of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, notice is hereby given for the nomination and election of the following individuals to the Chamber’s Board of Directors for a three year term beginning January 1, 2011 and ending December 31, 2013 : Randy Johnson (WalMart), Steve Harnden (Harnden and Associates), Steve Adams (Alpha Graphics), Dawn Johnson (Arizona State Credit Union), and Dr. Velvie Green (Glendale Community College). Additional names of candidates for directors can be nominated by petition bearing the certified signatures of at least twenty-five (25) active Chamber members in good standing. Such petitions will be filed at the Chamber offices : 7105 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, by December 10, 2010, no later than 4pm. Each candidate must be a member of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce in good standing and must have agree to accept the responsibilities of directorship.
