SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT ASU WEST, SEPT. 23rd

The 12th Annual Glendale Chamber Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, September 23rd at the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Course with a 7:30am shotgun start. ASU West is the beneficiary of the proceeds for scholarships.

Included in the contests at the event are four hole in one prizes sponsored by Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort. They are for $5000 cash, golf clubs and gift cards. There are also closest to the pin prizes on all par threes. One of the golfers will also win cash in the putting contest. All teams have a chance to win because there will be three flight winners.
Its only $100 per person to play. Included is golf, cart, goody bag, lunch and friendship. There are also great raffle prizes and mulligans available. Hole sponsorships begin at $125. If you have a foursome and sponsor a hole, the cost is only $495. That is a savings of $30.

THUNDERBIRD FIELD TOWER PROJECT NEARING COMPLETION

The public dedication of the historic Thunderbird Field Tower project will be Friday, November 11th on the campus of the Thunderbird School of Global Management. It’s the former site of Thunderbird Field where great Americans such as Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Cary Grant and others honed their military flying skills. You can add to their legacy by adding your name to the donor list which will be located in the newly renovated tower. NASCAR TAKES ON THE NEW PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY, OCTOBER 4TH

Race fans can watch the stars of NASCAR take on Phoenix International Raceway’s newly repaved and reconfigured one mile oval during a Sprint Cup Series testing session on Tuesday, October 4th. Gates will open at 8am for this special event and the public testing session will run until 5pm. The event is free to the public.

"Save the Date"! Chamber Auction Gala October 28 to Feature the Comedy of Michael Finney!

The Chamber's 18th Annual "Treasures of Glendale" Auction Gala will be held Friday, October 28 at the Glendale Civic Center from 6-9pm. It will a new venue, new auction format, and plenty of entertainment. We promise....no long check in or out lines!!!!!! We're going back to the basics, and giving our members a complete night of food, fun, and entertainment. Join us for a great silent auction (items from $10 and up!), dinner entertainment from Valley celebrities, and an after auction comedy show featuring Michael Finney! Finney is a regular performer at comedy clubs and casinos across the U.S. and abroad, but makes Glendale his home. He is one of the headliner comedians at Casino Arizona's "Showstoppers" and has appeared on a number of network television and HBO comedy specials! HEART FAILURE AND COPING WITH THE CHANGES OF CHRONIC ILLNESS

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is holding a free Heart Health Community Lecture about coping with heart failure and managing change. Whether heart disease affects you or someone you know, you can cope better when you understand the impact of change and how to grow through the change.
The lecture will be presented by Chaplain Greg Olson, director of Spiritual Care at Banner Thunderbird. It will be held on Wednesday, September 21st from 5:30 to 7pm in the East Campus Lower Level Conference Rooms 2 and 3. The center is located at 5555 W. Thunderbird. The Dr. Ted Laughlin Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Banner Health Pediatric Services in the West Valley will be held on Saturday, November 19th at the Raven Golf Club at Verrado in Buckeye with an 8am shotgun start. The event will benefit pediatric services at Banner Thunderbird and Banner Extrella Medical Centers. Included in the tournament is a continental breakfast, golf, contests, raffle and a great lunch. Preserving Luke AFB Heritage at Thunderbird School of Global Management - You can help preserve the historic Air Control Tower at Thunderbird, which was part of Thunderbird Airfield in WWII. Thunderbird is considered to be the precursor to Luke Air Force Base. The historic tower was closed in 2006 due to structural deficincies and alumni and staff embarked on a two year mission in 2009 to raise funds to restore it. The restoration project nears its public dedication on November 11, 2011. For a donation of $20 or more you can have your name added to the permanent donor list on the wall in the Tower. FREE Business Training Program - The Arizona Crime Prevention Association is hosting a business safety training forum at Cabela's in Glendale on November 1 specifically designed for businesses.
