Chamber Auction Gala to Feature The Comedy and Magic of Michael Finney October 2
Ready for something new and different? Then join us October 28 at the Glendale Civic Center for the “Treasures of Glendale” Annual Auction Gala! Dress as a pirate or business casual and spend the evening with us at the Chamber’s biggest fund raising event for the year.
Over 100 items will be up for Auction (many starting at $10) in our silent auction! The evening begins at 6pm with cocktails and the Silent Auction, with entertainment by musician Jay Soto. Finney is a regular performer at comedy clubs and casinos across the U.S. and abroad, but makes Glendale his home. He is one of the headliner comedians and magicians at Casino Arizona’s “Showstoppers” and has appeared on a number of network television and HBO comedy/magic specials! Prior to our event, Michael is on tour at the Palladium in London and also Malaysia during the month of October. He will have you rolling in the isles! Our Auction will feature hotel, vacation, Las Vegas and Laughlin packages, Cardinals tickets and autographed items, jewelry, and many other products and service from Glendale area businesses. A list of items will be emailed prior to event for your review. Tickets for the evening are $50 each ($400 for a table of 8) and include : bid ticket for silent and live auction items, dinner, pre dinner entertainment, and Michael Finney’s show. The popular annual Glendale Fire Prevention Parade will be held on Saturday, October 8th beginning at 9am. It will travel from 52nd Ave. along Glendale Ave. to 58th Ave. in downtown Glendale at Murphy Park. There will be family fun safety fair at the Park. The event will run until 1pm. The Glendale Chamber Scholarship Golf Tournament was successful, although it was a warm day. After the tournement ended, a record high temperature for September 23rd hit 108. BANNER THUNDERBIRD ADDS ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY FOR BREAST CANCER DETECTION
Banner Thunderbird Breast Center has recently installed two new state-of-the-art tables to assist the Breast Center in continuing to provide the highest level of service to its patients. The tables include a Siements Sterotactic Breast Biopsy Table with improved resolution and detail which allows non surgical biopsy of very small areas of concern. This provides for diagnoses at the earliest stages of breast cancer. In addition, the department also installed the GE Prodigy Bone densitometer (DEXA).
