| Chamber Auction Boosts Program Revenue
A big thank you to all who donated, volunteered and participated in the Chamber’s “Treasures of Glendale” Auction Gala held at the Glendale Civic Center on October 28. Over $13,000 was raised for Chamber small business programs and services.
The Auction, held annually, is the organization’s largest fund raising event and had seen revenues decrease over the past three years due to the area’s economic conditions. This year’s event raised nearly $4000 more than in 2010, according to Jennifer Willis of Humana, this year’s event Chairman and past Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Willis, who has accepted a National Sales Director position in Louisville, Kentucky with Humana, said she was “very pleased with the attendance and the dollars raised”. “The event had struggled a bit the last couple of years and we were looking to inject some new energy and turn it into more of a ‘Hometown’ kind of program. It makes it that much harder hard for me to leave the area when we see the business community rally for an event like this. It shows what great support the Chamber has from our members.” The Chamber would like to thank our sponsors : Humana, Wells Fargo, City of Glendale, Midwestern University, WalMart, APS and SRP. Petraitis Assumes Chamber Leadership
Sandra Petraitis, Project Manager for SRP, became the Chamber’s Chairman of the Board for the remainder of 2011, due to the promotion of Jennifer Willis to the National Sales Director position for Humana in Louisville, Kentucky. Petraitis was Chair-Elect and due to begin serving as Chairman in January of 2012. She will continue on in 2012 as our Chairman to serve her full one year term.
Sandra has served on the Chamber Board of Directors for several years and is a past president of Glendale Rotary. CHAMBER MEMBERS CAN PURCHASE ARIZONA HIGHWAYS HOLIDAY GIFT ITEMS AND SAVE
