Valley 2010 Economic Forecast Predicts Some Improvement

Over 150 Chambers of Commerce and Arizona Companies recently surveyed predict that 2010 will see some improvements in the Arizona economy. The survey, conducted between July and October 2009 and sponsored by Baird, Williams and Greer, LLP polled Arizona’s businesses to garner their opinions on the economic and business climate for the New Year.

Chambers Gear Up for 2010 Legislature

Local Chambers of Commerce from across the state are once again teaming up to develop a statewide Chamber Business Legislative Agenda to forward to our elected state officials. Members of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce Executives Coalition (ACE), several regional Chamber Alliance groups (including Glendale and the West Valley Chamber Alliance) and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are working on the final draft of a Legislative Agenda that demonstrates thebusiness community’s solidarity on several key issues.

The Business Agenda will be released in January and local Chambers will have the opportunity to participate in weekly briefing and strategy sessions with business leaders and lobbyists representing Chambers across Arizona. The complete Chamber Business Legislative Agenda will be published on our website, www.glendaleazchamber.org in January.
 

Don Rinehart Elected To State Post

Chamber President Elected to State Post

Chamber President and CEO Don Rinehart has been elected by his peers as 2010 Chairman of the Arizona Chamber Executives (ACE), a coalition of nearly 70 local Chambers of Commerce in Arizona. Rinehart, a 31 year Chamber professional, has managed Chambers in Iowa, Illinois and has been the CEO of the Glendale Chamber since 1998.

His responsibilities for ACE will include overseeing the activities of the board of directors, organizational policy decisions, and working with ACE Executive Director, Karen McClurg in providing educational and professional advancement opportunities for Arizona Chamber executives.
