AUGUST 23rd WEST VALLEY CHAMBERS' TRADE SHOW OPEN TO ALL BUSINESSES!

The West Valley Chamber Alliance has opened up its 11th Annual “Biz to Biz” Trade Show on August 23, to all businesses, regardless of Chamber affiliation.  The show, which runs from 4-7pm at the Wigwam Resort, and features nearly 100 exhibitors and 400-500 attendees, will be open for the first time to non Chamber of Commerce members that wish to exhibit.

Fees for exhibit space are still $175 (after August 1) for members of the Glendale, Wickenburg, Buckeye Valley, Southwest Valley, Surprise Regional and Peoria Chambers of Commerce, however, non member businesses can now purchase exhibit space for $300.

This show is the only one of its kind in the West Valley and is a great way to showcase your products and services to not only businesses in the West Valley, but consumers as well.  Exhibit space includes a 6-foot draped table and two chairs, plus great contacts, networking, light snacks, a cash bar and lots of door prizes!

CHAMBER AGREES TO PROVIDE SALES TAX INFORMATION

After meeting with City officials as well as members of the “Save Glendale Now” Sales Tax Initiative group, the Chamber’s board of directors has agreed to disseminate factual information concerning the City’s sales tax increase to its members and to take no further position on the issue.  Chamber leaders had met with City officials in June to offer their opposition to an across the board tax increase and suggest a two tiered approach, with exemptions for purchases over $5000.  The City Council agreed and the new tax rates will take effect August 1.  The board declined to take any action on the “Save Glendale Now” initiative due to the potential negative impact portions of the measure would have on a significant number of Chamber members.
