Chamber, City and Luke to Host Procurement Fair and Small BusinessTrade Show April 27


The Glendale Chamber of Commerce, City of Glendale, and Luke Air Force Base will host the 7th “Mastering the Purchasing Maze” Procurement Fair and Small Business Trade Show on April 27 at the Glendale Civic Center from 8-11:30am.

This is the largest Procurement Fair in the state of Arizona with an average attendance of over 1000 small businesses and government agencies. This is a great opportunity to meet buyers representing : federal and state government agencies, military bases, colleges and universities, school districts, cities and counties. This year, there will also be a small business element where small businesses can exhibit and/or meet with one another to exchange products and services….all under one roof! Here’s your chance to exhibit at a trade show where there is a ready-made business crowd, and buyers wanting to hear about your products and services!

Exhibit tables are : $50 for government or non profit agencies, $100 for Glendale Chamber member businesses, and $200 for non members. Admission to the event is free. City of Glendale Announces Amnesty Program

GLENDALE ANNOUNCES
CITY SALES TAX AMNESTY PROGRAM

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The city of Glendale is offering a one-time opportunity of a city sales tax amnesty program to assist business owners during these challenging economic times. Beginning today through April 30, business owners and landlords can pay delinquent sales tax and license fees and have all penalties, prior delinquent license fees, interest, and related building permit penalties waived as long as all delinquent sales tax liabilities are paid to the city no later than April 30.
In addition, during this amnesty period, owners of rental properties who are not licensed or reporting taxes can file and pay delinquent taxes and get a license without being penalized.
Business owners and landlords can take advantage of this program in the following ways:

• In Person: Visit the 2nd floor of City Hall, 5850 W. Glendale Avenue 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday

• By Appointment: Call (623) 930-4465 to schedule an appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Online: File online at www.glendaleaz.com/etax. The online service is for taxpayers filing under the following class codes only and who have liabilities during the period of January 2006 to March 2010 and are less than $10,000:
o Class Code 11 - Restaurant & bars
o Class Code 13 - Commercial/residential rental of real property
o Class Code 14 - Rental of tangible personal property
o Class Code 17 - Retail sales

TheGlendale Chamber partners with SCF Arizona in its Association Safety Program. SCF is the state’s largest most stable workers’ compensation insurance provider, serving Arizona employers’ and their employees’ for over 85 years.

If you are a policyholder of SCF Arizona, or one of its subsidiaries, you can receive:

• The Preferred Connection Network - SCF’s network of workers’ compensation medical providers - utilization keeps rates lower
• New online services at: www.scfaz.com for easy management of your policy

Policyholders who are eligible for SCF Arizona are eligible to receive a 10 percent deviation from the base rates set by the Arizona Department of Insurance and any potential dividends the SCF Arizona Board of Directors declares. As a member of the association, you could receive a “bonus” dividend on top of any you might earn on your own. Dividends are never guaranteed and are determined by each of the SCF Arizona Boards.
Policyholders in SCF Premier Insurance Co., SCF Western Insurance Co. and SCF General Insurance Co. traditionally have not paid dividends, but that decision is determined by each company’s board of directors.
Our association’s goal is to help you keep your employees’ safe. Joining the Association Safety Program provides you the tools that can help you do that, while helping you control your workers’ compensation costs.
