CHAMBER OFFICE BUILDING SOLD, NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE FOR NEW OFFICES

The Chamber of Commerce office building, located at 7105 North 59th Ave and home to the Glendale Chamber since 1986, has been sold to the Filipino Family Christian Fellowship Church.  The two parties closed the building sale on April 16 and the Chamber is leasing back office space until negotiations are completed with the City of Glendale on new quarters.  The Chamber is negotiating between two locations, one at the Glendale Civic Center Annex, and another in the City owned Bank of America office complex just east of the Chamber.

Chamber Chairman of the Board Dawn Johnson (Arizona State Credit Union) stated, “ Ongoing negotiations continue with the City of Glendale to ensure that the Chamber gains an upgraded and high profile presence in the city.  While this has taken longer than originally anticipated, we are confident that an agreement will be reached soon and the Chamber can begin relocating during the first two weeks in May. The sale of our building, coupled with the lease arrangement we will have with the City, ensures the Chamber’s financial health for years to come.  Our board and staff have worked very hard over the past several months to accomplish this.  I know our members will be pleased with our new offices and the financial peace of mind that comes with this move.”

The Filipino Family Christian FellowshipChurch plans a number of upgrades and renovations to the property at 7105 North 59th Ave.  The Chamber dedicated the building on December 11, 1986 and has been the sole tenant since then.

WILDLIFE WORLD ZOO & AQUARIUM ACHIEVES ACCREDITATION

The journey for Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium to bring marine mammals to the Phoenix metro area, the state’s first resident California Sea Lions in nearly 4 decades, began in earnest over two years ago when a senior staff member traveled to Washington DC to meet with experts from the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks & Aquariums.  Long before any animals were selected or any salt water was made, Wildlife World Zoo sought the expert advice of the Alliance’s marine mammal scientists, managers and veteranarians.
“Becoming an accredited member of the Alliance enables Wildlife World to partner with leading zoos, aquariums, rescue organizations and researchers from across the globe who are devoted to increasing our basic understanding of marine mammals and furthering awareness about the condition of our world ocean and precious, and still mysterious, animals that call it home,” said Wildlife founder and director, Mickey Ollson.

The Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium is located at 16501 W. Northern Ave.
