Get ready to "Read for the Win!" The Glenwood Public Library summer reading program registration is now open.
"Read for the Win!" this year's summer reading program at the Glenwood Public Library begins with a kick-off on Thursday, June 30 at 1:30 p.m. with Professor Marvel's Magic of the Olympics, a fun-filled magic show sponsored by the Viking Library System.
The summer reading program is free, sponsored by the friends or the Library. To register, call the Glenwood Public Library at 320-634-3375 or stop by at 108 SE 1st Avenue in Glenwood.

June is a busy month with many events and activities taking place in the Glenwood area and Pope County. This weekend is the Ride for the Cause on Saturday and then on Sunday is Father's Day.
We want to wish all Dad's a very happy Father's Day. If you're looking for something special to do this weekend, check out the Calendar of Events, and the Pope County Tribune/Starbuck Times Entertainment Section for some ideas.
The Pope County Farmers' Market, Glenwood has begun. We have a special "Meet Me atthe Market"email blast that will go out every Thursday, highlighting one of the vendors and products they make and sell. All items at the market are Minnesota Grown and/or made.
The market is located at the Pope County Fairgrounds. If you're interested in being a vendor, for the season or part of the season you can register on line or call the Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center at 320-634-3636.

Waterama Downtown Crazy Days and City Park Board Walk Sales Registration Now Open
​Registration is now open for Waterama Downtown Crazy Days and City Park Boardwalk Sales.
Waterama Downtown Crazy days will be held on Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29th. Downtown is free to chamber members. When registering online use the discount code: cmwaterama. For non-members the fee is $50.00
City Park Boardwalk Sales will be Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31st at the Glenwood City Park. You must have been a vendor downtown for both Thursday and Friday in order to participate in the City Park Boardwalk sales. Cost is $35.00 for members and non-members of the Glenwood Chamber (Waterama organization fee).

United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties - 2nd Annual SUP-Athon & Volunteer Opportunities
Do you like to Stand Up Paddle Board?
Support United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties by participating in the 2nd Annual SUP-Athon on July 7 and 8, 2016!
Organizers of this event have announced that all profits from the event will be donated to the United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties. The Big Ole SUP-Athon is an annual Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) race through Alexandria's Chain of Lakes. Four courses (2, 6, 10 and 26 Miles) have been established, all skill levels welcome!
