WCCO Going to the Lake will receive a Royal Waterama Welcome to town on Thursday!

Let's Show Our Community Spirit & Roll Out the Red Carpet Thursday!

Glenwood Waterama, in cooperation with the Glenwood Police & Fire Departments and the local Welcome WCCO committee, will provide Matt Brickman  & Ali Lucia of WCCO's Goin' to the Lake television series with a Lighted, Royal Escort into downtown Glenwood on Thursday around noon.

Glenwood Waterama and our lighted escorts will meet Matt & Ali near A&W on Thursday, prior to noon, and escort them into town on the official Waterama float!

Local area businesses and the community are encouraged to make plans to help us Roll out the Red Carpet for WCCO, by lining Minnesota Avenue from Casey's to the stoplight and one block south on Franklin with "Welcome WCCO" signs, t-shirts, decorated business fronts, etc. Let's make this opportunity to welcome the television celebrities to town with a great showing of community spirit!

After all, this is a celebrated occasion to have Glenwood featured on WCCO for the second time in less than a month, with a third episode planned with WCCO radio Friday afternoon live at Lakeside! Matt & Ali will be around town with their crews Thursday and Friday taping various areas of town, activities, and even some live shots!

The Glenwood Chamber & Rotary Club would like to invite everyone to Rise & Shine at the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber & Welcome Center Friday morning, where we hope to present Matt & Ali with a special gift commemorating their visit to Glenwood!

Rise & Shine runs from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and this month is sponsored by the Glenwood Rotary Club. A light breakfast is served, plenty of opportunities available to network, and we hope to also see the Waterama Brass & Royalty!

We hope to see some community spirit on Thursday, around noon (times may vary slightly depending on their exact arrival time.

Lighted Escort (parade route): Highway 28 East (from near A&W) down Minnesota Avenue to the stop light, south on Franklin one block to 1st Avenue SE, then east to the Ann Bickle Heritage House where a special reception is planned with some of our local area dignitaries helping to welcome them to town (by special invitation only).
