The City of Glenwood reminds residents that the road through Barsness Park is closed to all traffic. Detour routes are clearly marked. The road through Barsness Park is not a detour and will remain closed for the duration of the culvert work on Hwy 104.

Greetings!
Chamber Members! It's time to put together more Welcome gift bags and folders. We're happy to say that we have done 88 welcome visits since we started our program 3 years ago. We have several coming up in the next few weeks. Currently we have 12 gift bags left, so if you're planning to participate, please drop off brochures, promotional/gift items, business cards or whatever you would like placed in the folder of information and/or gift bag.
We have seen an increase of people coming into our offices this past year. We've have groups that meet monthly, business conferences, drivers license exams, and visitors stopping in to find out what there is to do in Glenwood. If you're a chamber member, business, club, organization, agency, home-based business, we can display business cards and or brochures. If you haven't seen our remodeled building stop by and check it out!
Remember to register for the Pope County Salute to Business and Industry coming up on October 20th!
Each year, the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the following co-sponsors, Starbuck Chamber of Commerce, The Klick Foundation, Glenwood Development Corporation, cities of Glenwood and Starbuck, Pope County Commission, Pope County HRA/EDA and the State of Minnesota, set aside a day during October (National Manufacturing Month) to recognize a local area business or industry that has made a substantial impact on the community.
This year, we are please to announce that Glacial Ridge Health System will join 22 past recipients in receiving this recognition We invite you to join us as we recognize Glacial Ridge Health System along with the past recipients on Thursday, October 20 at Lakeside.
Check in begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon and program will begin at 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.

Once a booth is reserved (first-come, first-serve), another exhibitor will not be able to select it.
Sponsors will choose their booth(s) and upload their logos into the system at the time of registration. Booth locations are limited, so be sure to register early to get the spot(s) you wish to choose.
One work around that we are aware of is that the registration system will charge our sponsors for their booth rental fees at the time they register, but know that once you are registered, we will correct that pricing and issue a new invoice for Sponsors from our office until we find a way around that issue.

Pope County Fright Nights - Haunted House
4:30-6:30 p.m.
The Pope County Fright Nights will be done on Saturday, October 29th for the season. However, they will have the building open for the Community Trick or Treating event from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
This is a lights on, no actors, child friendly time to walk through the haunted house (guided if you wish). Throughout the house, different businesses, agencies, organizations, clubs will be handing out treats.
Those businesses, organizations, clubs or just friends for the event that wish to participate, should let Kay know you will be participating for publicity notices and thank yous.
Those handing out treats should be at the Pope County Fright Nights Haunted House to find their spot and get ready to hand out treats around 4:00-4:15 p.m. We generally plan for 200-250 children to stop by to trick or treat.
Glenwood Commercial Grant Opportunities
The City of Glenwood is seeking grant funds from the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development's (DEED's) Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) for downtown property owners in the target area featured below who are interested in improving their commercial buildings.
As part of the application process for these funds, the City must provide a list of interested property owners and examples of projects in Glenwood which need funding.
It is important that you complete the attached Letter of Interest Form if you would like funding from this grant to fix up your property! If you own multiple buildings downtown, please complete and submit separate forms for each building!
