Statewide Seat Belt Enforcement on MN Roads
The Department of Public Safety held a news conference on Thursday, May 18 announcing the Click It or Ticket extra enforcement campaign coming up May 22-June 4 and also demonstrated the strength of the seatbelt.
Minnesotans are making smart choices as a high rate of motorists continue buckling up (93 percent) in Minnesota, compared with 88.5 percent nationally.
Remember to buckle up - it can help prevent injury or loss of life when properly used.

It is hard to believe we are approaching Memorial Day Weekend. We want to wish everyone a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend.
The Chamber and Welcome Center Office will be closed on Monday, May 29th in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.
Remember that Central Square will be hosting the Glenwood Memorial Day Program again this year at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 29th.
The Pope County Tribune will have information on Memorial Day Programs, events and activities in Glenwood and Pope County in the early edition newspaper coming out Friday, May 26th and you can find Memorial Day program information in this week's Starbuck Times.
Congratulations to Kallan Mercier and Shawn Stumpf on receiving the Youth of the Year Award, Bob Gandrud, receiving the "Volunteer of the Year" Award, LaVonne and Mike Holland receiving the " Lifetime Achievement" Award and the Glenwood Rotary Club on receiving the "Non-Profit/Service Club" Award at the Chamber Annual Meeting this past Thursday.
Thank you to the Chamber & Welcome Center board members that participated and volunteered at the event. Thank you to Angie and Staff at the Minnewaska House for hosting and preparing the luncheon.

Printed Member & Community Directories Coming Soon!
Thanks to the Pope County Tribune, who has been working with the Chamber & Welcome Center for the past couple of years, we will soon have our printed directories available for all members, the general public, etc.
We have updated the category listings over the past couple of days and would like for ALL members to take a look at the online directory and ensure that we have placed you in the categories that you wish to be listed in. Each member can be listed in a maximum of 5 different categories, which we anticipate will also be printed in the membership directory by category as well as an alphabetical listing of all of our members.
Please let us know if you wish to be listed in different categories than where we have placed you prior to the end of the day Monday, May 29 so that we can send the category listings with the members in over to the Tribune to start working on this portion.
We anticipate having the final directories printed in the next couple of weeks. For those that were at the Annual Meeting & Community Awards Luncheon last week, you were able to see a partial draft of what this publication will look like.
We look forward to any changes and to having the first printed publication in nearly a decade coming out soon! The Chamber & Welcome Center continues to strive for new ways to cross-promote our members and appreciates your continued support.
If you know of anyone else that is interested in being a Chamber member and wishes to have their names, business, organization, etc. both online as well as in this annual publication, please have them contact us prior to the end of the day Thursday also so that we can get that information in there also. Don't forget that if you refer a new business to the Chamber, you are entitled to the referral bonus as long as they list you!

Format: 2 Person Team (Pick your partner)
Non-Members - $100 ~ Members - $75
Carts ($18 per day, per rider)

Saturday – 27 Holes of Match Play(3 – 9 Hole Matches – 4 Ball)

90% USGA Handicap Used
All Handicaps are at the discretion of the Handicap Committee
Teams will be divided into Flights(6 Teams in each flight) by Team Handicap. The flights will be round robin matches. Total Points accumulated in all matches will determine the flight winner. The top team in each flight will advance to the shootout. The next 3 teams with the highest point totals from all flights will advance to the shootout. The last spot in the shootout will be the team with the most points on Sunday. Shootout will be alternate shot with handicap.
Prizes for: 1st & 2nd in each flight, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd each day, Top 3 teams in the shootout.

 The Pope County Farmers' Market, Glenwood season is open from June 10 through October, 2017 depending on weather and produce availability.
The Pope County Farmers Market, Glenwood is located at the Pope County Fairgrounds, Minnesota Avenue West or State Highway 28 W, Glenwood.
The Market is open on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
