Waterama Junior and Queen Candidate Application
The 62nd Glenwood Waterama is looking for applicants to participate in this years Glenwood Waterama Junior Royalty competition next year's Waterama Queen. Applications can be found in this week's Pope County Tribune and Starbuck Times.
Glenwood Library Accepting Used Books for Waterama Sale
The Glenwood Public Library is accepting used books for their annual Waterama Used Book Sale. Please make sure they are in fair to good condition. Do not leave magazines, textbooks or encyclopedias. Proceeds from this sale go toward children's programs including the popular summer Reading Program.
Statewide Seat Belt Enforcement on MN Roads
The Department of Public Safety held a news conference on Thursday, May 18 announcing the Click It or Ticket extra enforcement campaign coming up May 22-June 4 and also demonstrated the strength of the seatbelt.
Minnesotans are making smart choices as a high rate of motorists continue buckling up (93 percent) in Minnesota, compared with 88.5 percent nationally.
Remember to buckle up - it can help prevent injury or loss of life when properly used.

We hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend.
This is Graduation weekend for Minnewaska Area High School and for our neighboring communities as well. Good luck and best wishes to all graduates!
Saturday, June 3, 2017 is the annual Glenwood Lakes Area Kids' Day. This marks the 22nd year of this annual event, which is always held the first Saturday in June.
On Saturday we start at 8:30 a.m. with the Take a Kid Fishing portion and then at 11:00 a.m. we start with activities that will run through 3:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m. the Bike Rodeo and Obstacle Course will be held. The day should end about 4:00 p.m. with the annual drawing of bikes and helmets. Scroll down to find the schedule for the day and/or visit the Welcome Center website at www.WelcomeGlenwood. org.
We've had our Kids' day rain or shine in the past. We hope that tradition continues this weekend, however any weather related announcements will be on our local KMGK 107.1 FM radio station, on our websites and Facebook pages.

 The Pope County Farmers' Market, Glenwood season is open from June 10 through October, 2017 depending on weather and produce availability.
The Pope County Farmers Market, Glenwood is located at the Pope County Fairgrounds, Minnesota Avenue West or State Highway 28 W, Glenwood.
The Market is open on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
