Glenwood Police Department reminds everyone to utilize your local resources when someone new to the area comes to town and attempts to sell you products and/or services and please do your due diligence to research and verify that what you are buying is legitimate.

If you suspect fraudulent activity, please don't hesitate to contact local authorities or other resources to verify the activity.

SCAMMER IN POPE COUNTY - SCAM ALERT!!

There is a guy in the area that has already attempted to scam to businesses in Glenwood. His name is Ethan Kogutkiewicz and here is a copy of the business card that he has used in the past. He is described as white, dark hair, about 6'2" - 6'3" and about 200-220 lbs. Ethan also drives silver Buick Lucerne.

He is going around to businesses trying to sell advertising for the local business where he offers to put coupons on the back of business receipts.

He typically states that it costs $25.00 month or $300.00 a year. To date, he has been reported to have sold the ads to local area businesses, then after you sign up and write him a check, he skips town.

If you have written a check or paid for advertising from this person, please the Glenwood Police Department requests that you cancel your checks and report all incidences to your local law enforcement agency.

In addition, he doesn't have a valid Minnesota Driver's license so if you see him, please call (911) law enforcement right away.
