CCII Streetscape & Beautification Committee Meeting, Thursday, September 7, 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Glenwood, MN : Beautiful Downtown Glenwood, Minnesota photo, picture ...CCII Streetscape & Beautification Committee Meeting, Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber & Welcome Center.

These meetings are intended for local area residents, business operators/owners, organizations, etc. to send representatives that will help to plan out community events, communications, marketing and public relations from a local standpoint for the duration of the 2018 Complete Streets project, which is scheduled to start by May 1, 2018 (sooner if weather permits) and last through the entire construction season as it is a city-wide project.

Similar to Alexandria's ROAD REPORT, this group will come up with activities, events, signage, marketing efforts, etc. to keep businesses, residents, and visitors in the "know" of what's going on and providing assistance, resources, and extra steps to businesses in an effort to continue operations as close to normal during construction season.

Business owners/operators, media, organizations, and community members are encouraged to attend the first meeting to know what this group is about and will hopefully have some ideas and intentions of helping throughout the duration of this meeting. The first meeting is crucial as it will set the stage for this group for a number of things.

The first few meetings are set for every-other Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and will more than likely transition to once a month during the holidays through the start of construction.

Anyone interested should attend this meeting or contact the chamber at 320-634-3636 and let us know you are interested in participating, but cannot make this meeting
.

Scam Alert: Fraudulent Advertising Sales

Glenwood Police Department

SCAMMER IN POPE COUNTY - SCAM ALERT!!

There is a guy in the area that has already attempted to scam to businesses in Glenwood. His name is Ethan Kogutkiewicz and here is a copy of the business card that he has used in the past. He is described as white, dark hair, about 6'2" - 6'3" and about 200-220 lbs. Ethan also drives silver Buick Lucerne.

He is going around to businesses trying to sell advertising for the local business where he offers to put coupons on the back of business receipts.

He typically states that it costs $25.00 month or $300.00 a year. To date, he has been reported to have sold the ads to local area businesses, then after you sign up and write him a check, he skips town.

If you have written a check or paid for advertising from this person, please the Glenwood Police Department requests that you cancel your checks and report all incidences to your local law enforcement agency.

In addition, he doesn't have a valid Minnesota Driver's license so if you see him, please call (911) law enforcement right away.
