This week's Community Comments is sponsored by the following Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber Members & Individual/Family Supporters:

CCII Streetscape & Beautification Committee Meeting, Thursday, September 7, 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Glenwood, MN : Beautiful Downtown Glenwood, Minnesota photo, picture ...CCII Streetscape & Beautification Committee Meeting, Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber & Welcome Center.

These meetings are intended for local area residents, business operators/owners, organizations, etc. to send representatives that will help to plan out community events, communications, marketing and public relations from a local standpoint for the duration of the 2018 Complete Streets project, which is scheduled to start by May 1, 2018 (sooner if weather permits) and last through the entire construction season as it is a city-wide project.

Similar to Alexandria's ROAD REPORT, this group will come up with activities, events, signage, marketing efforts, etc. to keep businesses, residents, and visitors in the "know" of what's going on and providing assistance, resources, and extra steps to businesses in an effort to continue operations as close to normal during construction season.

Business owners/operators, media, organizations, and community members are encouraged to attend the first meeting to know what this group is about and will hopefully have some ideas and intentions of helping throughout the duration of this meeting. The first meeting is crucial as it will set the stage for this group for a number of things.

The first few meetings are set for every-other Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and will more than likely transition to once a month during the holidays through the start of construction.

Anyone interested should attend this meeting or contact the chamber at 320-634-3636 and let us know you are interested in participating, but cannot make this meeting
