 Thank you to those who have submitted dates for the Minnewaska Visitor Guide. All dates are due to Kay at the Glenwood Chamber & Welcome Center by Thursday, December 21st.  Email any of your upcoming dates to info@WelcomeGlenwood.org.   

 All dates received will be submitted to the staff at Pope County Tribune/Starbuck Times and they make the final decision on which dates will be published.

2018 Pope County Community Expo Exhibitor Registration is now open.  Booths are limited on a first come first serve basis.
 

Winter Parking Reminder



The City of Glenwood reminds residents and those parking on city streets to be mindful of snow events and make arrangements for off-street parking.  Vehicles were not towed following the last snowfall, but moving forward vehicles that are parked on city streets during snow removal operations WILL BE TOWED.  Please take note of this reminder for the upcoming winter months.

Magical Christmas in Glenwood continues this Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the Free Living Nativity and Free hot cider and Christmas Cookies at Tom's Market - Deli/Cafe from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

The Coloring Contest winners will be announced on Thursday at noon.  Check out our website and Face Book for the winners.


We  need two-three angels to complete our second "Living Nativity" shift.  The second shift is 5:30-7:00 p.m.    Give Kay a call at 320-634-3636 if you can volunteer.

This year our board of directors wanted some feedback on the Magical Christmas in Glenwood celebration.  We have an online survey that anyone can fill out.  This event has been part of Glenwood for seven years.  We appreciate your comments to make a good celebration better.    Click Here for online survey

The theme for 2018 is "What's Changing in Pope County?" with a special emphasis on the following Pope County projects:
  • MnDOT 2018: Glenwood Complete Streets Project;
  • MnDOT 2019: Highway 28 between Glenwood & Starbuck; and
  • MnDOT 2020: Starbuck Complete Streets Project
with engineers, state (MnDOT), County, and City representatives, general contractors, etc. on site to answer questions, show plans, and take comments/feedback on the projects that are helping to shape and redefine Pope County's landscape and physical features!
In addition, we have the following that are being promoted as feature exhibits:
  • SCDP 2017-2020: Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) for Glenwood & Starbuck
  • Barsness Park & Lake Minnewaska Regional Recreation Area: Off-road cycling trails, disc golf course expansions & more!

The exhibitor layout this year has changed to allow for larger booth areas, discounted rates, and a variety of locations, however, there is a reduced number of booths available this year. Register today as they will fill up fast as they are first-come, first-serve! When registering, please be sure that you choose the correct booth for you according to the following color schemes as noted on the exhibitor booth map:
 Premium Booths: 2-4 times the size of a standard booth

Interested in hosting this Rise & Shine Event? If so, please review the following information and complete the registration form listed below.

The popularity of Chamber networking programs continues! A real benefit of businesses is the opportunity to host a Rise & Shine event. Your business or organization is eligible to host a Rise & Shine event as often as you wish.

Rise & Shine provides hosts an ideal opportunity to introduce its business and employees, offer tours of their facility, and showcase their services and products. This is the host member's time to shine!

Non-refundable hosting fee: Waived for ALL 2018 Rise & Shine Events due to the 2018 Complete Streets Project and the Chamber's desire to draw people to your business.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE FOR HOSTING a RISE & SHINE EVENT:
  • Advertising the event and YOUR business/organization to 300+ members and their employees
    • Promotion of your event appears on the Community Calendar, in the weekly newsletter, and in a separate email blast specifically the week of the event that the Chamber will place announcing the event date, time, and your location!

  • Attendee incentive: The Glenwood Lake Area Chamber provides a "Member Jackpot Drawing" collection of prizes donated by member hosts for a jackpot drawing at the end of your event. All Chamber members names are entered into the drawing each month, however, they MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN the jackpot drawing! If the member drawn is not present, the jackpot continues to grow and their name is entered into the drawing once again.
  • Create some Buzz! The Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber provides a boulevard/sidewalk tent sign you can display the week of your event.
  • Help is Available! The Chamber & Welcome Center staff work side by side with you and your business/organization to produce a successful event!
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AS THE HOST:
  • Provide an ala carte breakfast (coffee, juice, rolls, etc.) for approximately 25-50 people above your staff and special guests
  • Provide one door prize for the Host Business Card Drawing
  • Provide a second door prize for the Member Jackpot Drawing
  • Display the Rise & Shine boulevard tent sign prior to your event
  • Be prepared to share information about your business, organization, staff, volunteers, products & services (approximately 15 minutes is alloted - longer presentations should be approved with the Chamber & Welcome Center staff prior to your event)
