Grow Glenwood

The Grow Glenwood Communications Committee is pleased start to share information as we gear up to kick off the 2018 Glenwood Complete Streets project in the coming weeks. Grow Glenwood is an independent, community based committee, facilitated by the Chamber & Welcome Center that has been working now for the past several months to help with communications and fundraising efforts.

Grow Glenwood grew from former committees that were known as the Comprehensive Community Improvement Initiative (CCII) and has several members who have been with the project planning since 2010 as well as new members who have joined in the past few months. The Committee is comprised of MnDOT representatives, City of Glenwood representatives, representatives from non-profit organizations such as Glenwood & Beyond and the Glenwood Rotary Club, business representatives, and the general public.

Grow Glenwood has been meeting for several months now, will continue throughout the entire 2018 Complete Streets project, and is planned to meet for other capacities after the street project completion. In addition, a Grow Glenwood webpage will soon be available as part of the Pope County Tribune website and shared through various emails, links, etc. similar to the MnDOT informational site for the upcoming project.

The Grow Glenwood mission statement reads: Grow Glenwood is a group of residents and business employees/owners who will coordinate marketing and communications efforts to support MnDOT, Pope County & the City of Glenwood with the 2018 Complete Streets project.

A few important dates to keep in mind are:
  • Tuesday, February 27, 2018 Business Visits
  • Saturday, April 7, 2018 Pope County Community Expo
  • Friday, April 20, 2018 Groundbreaking Ceremony
We look forward to our communications committee helping to keep you informed of the upcoming events, activities, and street project updates. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions, suggestions, etc. that can help us to better communicate with everyone!
