A Message from the Chamber Director

I'd like to take a moment of your time and share some important information with everyone.

After 11 1/2 years with the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber & Welcome Center, I will be leaving my position as Executive Director at the end of this week. This position has been a great joy and brought so much satisfaction with the way we have grown as an organization over the years. I'd like to leave on a good note and like to think that my work in the community, whether that's with the Chamber & Welcome Center, community organizations, or as Mayor, has made a lasting difference.

One of my personal goals was to grow the Chamber & Welcome Center to better serve the community and to create events and activities that bring not only new people to the community, but more importantly, bring the community together! Some of the events that I'm most proud of having helped to start include the Pope County Community Expo, Magical Christmas in Glenwood, ACT Work Ready Communities, Glenwood Lakes Area Disc Golf Tournament, Glenwood Night with the Blizzard, Glenwood Day at Andes Tower Hills, and Grow Glenwood... Just to name a few.

There are several activities and events that were in place prior to me starting back in 2008, but I have been committed to continuing those activities and events, but also to help grow them as well as working with businesses, organizations, and community members to work together and make a lasting difference.

It's been a pleasure to serve the community and rest assured, just because I am leaving my position as Executive Director for the Chamber, I'm not done serving the community and local area. While I am still the Mayor of Glenwood, I will continue to serve and help to continue Growing Glenwood and the surrounding area Together!
