Our mission is to see multitudes at home and abroad, from every walk of life, come to an unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; to lead them in worship and instruction that they may be integrated into the Christian community, possessing the hope of eternal life as well as maintaining a love which binds them together. We value those in our community who have not yet chosen to unite with Christ and His Church. We value the process of transformation that Christ is working in His followers to make them more like Him. We value the ministry of every individual within the congregation and the community.
Pastor Gary and his wife, Barbara, have served at Calvary First for over 14 years. They are the parents of two children and 3 grandchildren, who also reside in Florida. Originally from Ohio, where they pastored for nine years, they moved to central Florida in 1989. Pastor Gary was ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1984.
First Assembly of God came into existence in 1946 with facilities located near downtown Haines City. The church has a rich heritage of saints in the area. In 1993 they merged with Calvary's Hill Worship Center and become Calvary First Assembly of God. The downtown property was liquidated and the congregation settled into the current picturesque location on Johnson Avenue, where they have 13 beautiful acres and a sanctuary that seats over 200, as well as an education building and a parsonage.
