November Student of the Month: Wyatt Zeiglar
Wyatt Zeiglar is a 12th grade student at HHS with a 4.27 weighted GPA. He is a member of the HHS National Honor Society, Member of Alpha Zeta Pi, and a fierce competitor on the HHS swim team. Wyatt is ranked 13 out of 277 students poised to graduate in May, 2017.
Wyatt was nominated for the Chamber Award by the HHS STEM Coach, Susan Barton.
Wyatt has been a fully involved member of Alpha Zeta Pi (The STEM club organization for HHS). As a member of Alpha Zeta Pi, Wyatt has participated in STEM Forums at Florida South Western State College, Indian River State College, and South Florida State College. He has demonstrated exceptional skills in working as a team member through his participation in the Solar GoKart Challenge at Florida Gulf Coast University and a summer internship at the Center for Great Apes. Wyatt will also be receiving the Letter of Distinction from the Florida Commissioner of Education.
In addition to excelling in academics, Wyatt is also an outstanding athlete. When asked about Wyatt, Swim Coach Tracy Pate, stated, “I have known Wyatt since he was nine years old, and watched him grow into the athlete he is now. Wyatt is a hard worker and continuously strives to give his best effort in all of his events. Wyatt has been a member of Hardee Swim Association club for nine years and a High school swimmer for four years. He currently holds three high school swim records. I'm glad I've had to opportunity to coach this young man.”
Working with Wyatt is always a pleasure and he is highly deserving of the Chamber’s Student of the Month Award. His current science teacher, Dr. Karen Gustinger, summed his strengths up well when she wrote, “Wyatt puts 110% in everything he does. He's a good friend, a strong student, and a great athlete.”
