December Student of the Month: Ariana Delerosa
Arianna Delarosa is a senior at Hardee Senior High School. She has a weighted GPA of 4.27 and is ranked 12th out of the current 277 students in her graduating class.
Advanced math teacher, Mrs. Melody Klobuchar, writes in her recommendation of Arianna:
I have known Arianna Delarosa for the past three years, as a student of Honors Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Arianna is an outstanding student. She is intelligent, self-disciplined, self motivated and goal oriented. A born leader, she is well liked and highly respected by her peers as well as the faculty of the Hardee Senior High School. During her 3+ years at Hardee Senior High, Arianna has received recognition awards in both math and science (Excellence in Biology, Excellence in Pre-Calculus, Award of Merit from the Hardee County Superintendent), and won 2nd place to her to our Regional Science Fair. Arianna is involved in a mind-boggling number of extra-curricular activities, and holds leadership positions in many of the organizations to which she belongs. Arianna balances all of these activities with a rigorous schedule of honors and dual enrollment courses, maintaining a GPA of 4.2. Perhaps more important than her intellectual prowess and her leadership ability, however, is Arianna’s outstanding character. She is an ideal role model for other students at our school, and is always willing to lend a hand. Arianna has the high principles and maturity to make her own wise choices and to influence others for good. Arianna Delarosa is certain to excel in college and beyond.
As Mrs. Klobuchar mentioned in her recommendation, Arianna is highly involved with many different organizations on the Hardee High campus. She serves as Events Director of National Honor Society, is a key member of Future Business Leaders of America, Lionettes, Student Council and Key Club. She is also a member of the volleyball team and volunteers in her spare time for the Children’s Ministry at St. Michaels Catholic Church.
Regarding Arianna’s role as a member of the HHS Student Council, Sponsor Dr. Karen Gustinger stated that, “Arianna is an exceptionable young lady both inside the classroom and as an Officer in the HHS Student Council. She accepts and follows through with responsibility with a smile and always has a word of encouragement for her peers.”
FBLA Sponsor, Mrs. Ashleigh Hayes, shared that, “Arianna is such a kind, polite, and balanced young lady. Always eager to help, she is reliable and conscientious of all she does. I am immensely proud to call her a Future Business Leaders of America member. She is truly a shining star!”
Mrs. Stephanie Mier is Arianna’s art teacher and volleyball coach. When asked to share her thoughts about Arianna, Mrs. Mier wrote, “I was privileged and blessed to meet Arianna. She was meticulous in her art work. She always challenged herself with her projects and was successful.” Mrs. Mier went on to compare the level of Arianna’s work to that of a college level art student. Mrs. Mier also expanded on Arianna’s example as a student athlete. “She came to me last year asking what she needed to do to play on the volleyball team. She constantly sent me emails asking what workouts and drills she needed to do to learn the game since she couldn't attend summer conditioning. She basically taught herself over the summer, came to tryouts and made the team this 2016 year. As a friend, she is the most dedicated, humble, faithful, sweet, competitive, hardworking, meticulous and disciplined young lady I know. She is rare, humble, and unique. I can't wait to see her success in this world. Arianna is a great role model to our youth!”
