Our mission at Freedom is to foster a culture of mutual support, where we serve our members and communities with integrity and dedication. We strive to offer financial empowerment, diverse options, and exceptional value while nurturing meaningful connections that enrich the lives of those we serve.
Established in 1953 as MATCOM Federal Credit Union and rooted in Baltimore before relocating to Harford County to support the Edgewood Arsenal, which later became part of Aberdeen Proving Ground, we have evolved into Freedom Federal Credit Union. Expanding our reach, we obtained a community charter for Harford County in 1999 and adopted our current name in 2000. Recognizing the growing needs of our community, the NCUA granted us an expansion to include Baltimore County in 2020. Today, we proudly serve individuals and families residing, working, worshiping, volunteering, or studying in Harford and Baltimore Counties, extending our support to local businesses through a range of financial services.
Continuing our legacy of service, we maintain a strong bond with the military community while collaborating with numerous local businesses across Baltimore and Harford Counties through our Freedom at Work Partnership Program, offering tailored benefits to employees. At Freedom, we are deeply committed to the prosperity and well-being of the communities we call home.
