About Childrens Advocacy Center of Central Texas
Childrens Advocacy Center of Central Texas
The Children's Advocacy Center of Central Texas (CACCT) was established in 1997 by George Moffat, a former Bell County Sheriff's Office investigator, to provide a child-friendly environment for victim interviews. With the support of Jack Mazzucca and dedicated board members, the CACCT officially formed as a non-profit corporation in 1998. Over the years, it expanded its services to include Coryell and Milam Counties, merging with CASA in 2007 before becoming independent again in 2015. With increased funding and community support, the CACCT has grown its services and facilities, including the establishment of the 'Hope House' for therapeutic interventions. Michelle Carter retired in 2021 after 20 years of service, and Debra Longley became the current Executive Director. Today, the CACCT serves over 850 children with a budget nearing $950,000, having supported over 10,000 children and families across the region.
