Our team of highly trained Optometrists is among the most skilled in the state, with qualifications including residency training, board certification in Medical Optometry, Fellowship status with the American Academy of Optometry, and active membership in numerous professional Associations and Societies. In addition, our doctors have been recognized with various awards and certificates of achievement.

With offices located in Virginia (established 1930), Hibbing (established 1919), and Duluth (established 1949), we have a rich history of providing top-notch eye care to the community. The Virginia practice was founded by Dr. MacDonald in 1930 and has since been passed down through generations to Drs. Les Sipola, Don Sipola, Matt Sipola, and Hannah Sipola. Similarly, the Hibbing practice was established by Dr. William Larson Sr., later joined by his son Dr. Larson Jr., followed by Drs. Scott Mescher and Matt & Hannah Sipola. The Duluth practice was founded by Dr. Harry Dahl before being taken over by Drs. Don Sipola and Matt & Hannah Sipola.

As fourth-generation Optometrists continuing the legacy of excellence at the longest continuously operating eye clinic in Northern Minnesota, we take pride in caring for multiple generations of Iron Rangers as if they were part of our own family.
