Highland Health Care Names Andrew Lane, R.N. LNHA, as New Executive Director

he had many successes including exponentially increasing the skilled nursing facility’s census, which expanded the community for its residents.

Lane’s career in the skilled nursing facility industry began at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Mo., a retirement community that offers independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care. During his time there he served as its Director of Nursing in 2015 and 2016. Andrew has spent the majority of his nursing career working in the skilled nursing facility industry.

Military Experience Led to His Healthcare Career
Lane, who resides in St. Peters, Mo., is a sergeant in the Missouri Army National Guard, having previouslyserved in the U.S. Army for 18 years, which included several overseas deployments. He then earned his Associates Degree in Nursing from Southeast Health College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2015. He then went on in 2021 to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Central Methodist University.

Lane’s military background will also create a warm environment for retired veterans, as Highland Health Care is contracted with the St. Louis Veteran’s Association and has multiple residents that served.

“I entered nursing after my experiences in the Army in Afghanistan.  That led me to want to be a part of something larger than just myself, and guided me to healthcare and skilled nursing administration,”  Lane said.  “Essentially, I train soldiers in combat arms principles on the weekends, but spend my weekdays in service to our community ensuring the delivery of exceptional care!

“I will also use my expertise in risk management to help protect our residents from the COVID-19 threat in our communities,” he added.

Debra Reed, former Executive Director of Highland Health Care Center, was promoted within the company.
