Library Offers Summer Reading ProgramsOn Monday and Tuesday, June 27 and June 28, we welcome you to our Preschool Storytime, beginning at 10 a.m. each week, during our summer programming. We have stories and a craft each week appropriate for children ages 5 and under. Please note our Tuesday program mirrors the Monday program, meaning that the Monday and Tuesday program are alike each week.Tuesday evening, June 28, at 6 p.m. is our popular LEGO CLUB. Come build new creations. Projects are displayed in the library for one week so others can come and enjoy the work of our LEGO CLUBBERS. Wednesday, June 29, at 1 p.m. is the Circus Kuput performance. This means the circus is coming to us right in our own library! There is a wide variety of novelty acts and performers. This is a summer must see for families! Thursday, June 30, returns with more Science Wizards at 1 p.m.! We attempt three science experiments each week and explore the outcomes using every day household items. This interactive event is designed for school age children. On the evening of Thursday, June 30, Latzer Library will host a Family Storytime at 6 p.m. for kids and their families. We will share campfire stories and make S’mores. Relax with us and enjoy time as a family. Please bring a lawn chair. All of the S’mores ingredients will be provided. In case of rain, adaptations will be made for indoor fun. Friday, July 1, join us for our first Pop Up Storytime at 10 a.m. at Leaps of Love. We will meet at the entrance located at 1005 Broadway B, near Highland Printers, by the intersection of Broadway and Washington Street on the Highland Square. Saturday, July 2, Summertime Crafty Saturday occurs at Jennie Latzer Kaeser Children’s Library from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. (or while our supplies last). This is a “stop-in-when-you-want-to/ come and go as you please” activity available to all children 12 and under. Remember, it is not too late to sign up for our Summer Reading Program. There’s always time to READ BEYOND THE BEATEN PATH. Another new item for the library this summer is the availability of pool passes. Pool passes for the Highland City Outdoor Pool are available for check out for Latzer Library patrons for one week in the Children’s Library.
