Highland Health Care Recieves Award

Highland’s CEO/Administrator Katie Liszewski pointed out that recipients of the Above and Beyond Award must first have received the Patriot Award – which the facility did in July 2021 – and then continue to strive to serve our veterans. “Highland Health Care has put a great deal of work into being a welcoming place for armed forces vets and treating their unique needs, so this award recognizes and reinforces that work,” she said.
 
Highland Health Care Center currently has 20 residents, and two staff members, who are veterans. The presence of the veterans on staff helps to create a warm environment for retired veterans, said Liszewski.  She noted as well that rather than recognize a specific achievement, the Above and Beyond Award acknowledges the facility’s ongoing focus on serving veterans daily through all aspects of care.
 
“It’s an honor to support the National Guard and its reserve members,” Liszewski said. “But, we must also remember that this award would not have been possible without our incredible staff and their unique caregiving to veterans.”
