Louis Latzer Library Hosts Events

The Week of June 5-10 is hopping at Latzer Library!!!!   Please check out all of our events and join us as often as you can!!!
 
Tuesday, June 6:  Lego Club 6 p.m.  Come build creations with other kids and adults.  We design in the Children's Library each Tuesday all summer long.
 
Wednesday, June 7:  Explore Aviation!  10 -11 a.m.  Designed for people ages 12-99.  Have you ever considered learning how to fly or just want to learn more about this opportunity?  Visit Latzer Library and discover how to earn your wings!
 
Wednesday, June 7:  Richard Landry, Magician, 1 p.m.  Calling all kids!  Be motivated and encouraged while having fun with Richard Landry, Magician Extraordinaire.  So much fun for you awaits!  I wonder if he'll pull a rabbit out of his hat???
 
Wednesday, June 7:  Dungeons and Dragons 6:00 p.m.  We have 2 groups of D and D; one is for children learning the game ages 9 and up and the others is for teens and adults.  You'll be hooked after you create your own character.  This group meets the first and third Wednesday of each month.
 
Thursday, June 8:  This begins our STEAMy Thursdays at 1:00-1:45 p.m. and is designed for school age children. (We will be exploring science, technology, engineering, art, and math throughout the summer.)  June 8 is filled with science experiments using regular household items.  Miss Donna loves getting messy so be prepared!
 
Thursday, June 8:  6 p.m. Big T's Honeybee Farm will be buzzing by Latzer Library!  Kids and adults can become beekeepers for an hour while seeing how bees create honey.  This is an interactive demonstration.
 
Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m.:  Fitness Fridays kick off with Mr. Billy Sullivan.  He, along with a group from his basketball team,  will be demonstrating beginning basketball skills for kids of any age.  Mr. Sulivan is fun, encouraging, and knows his sport well.  Yes, kids will be participating!  Come have a ball with us!!!
 
Saturday, June 10 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.:  Create a masterpiece with the talented Megan Vinson, art teacher in the Highland School District.  Recommended for ages 4-9.  Enjoy a Crafty Saturday project and check out some books for Summer Reading afterwards.
