October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) designated to focus on improving employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The 2013 theme – Because We are Equal to the Task – emphasizes the value people with disabilities can offer local businesses.
Genesis Employment Services programs prepare people for jobs in the community and assist them in securing and maintaining employment. Genesis is currently assisting individuals working in community jobs in Indianola, Winterset, Boone, Adel, Jefferson, Panora, Perry, and Storm Lake. Warren County employers currently providing employment opportunities include Burger King, McDonalds, Indianola YMCA, Affinity Bridal, Windsor Manor, Little Caesars, and Hy-Vee.
