Families are invited by Warren County Conservation Board and Indianola Parks and Recreation to this hike-when-you-please event on the McVay Trail in Indianola. Simpson College Named a Best Online Program by U.S. News & World Report

Simpson College offers one of the top online bachelor’s degree programs in the country according to the U.S. News & World Report 2021 Best Online Programs rankings, released Tuesday.

Simpson jumped 64 spots from last year’s rankings to tie for No. 144 among the best online bachelor’s programs in the nation. That puts Simpson at No. 53 among private colleges and No. 2 in the state of Iowa. Simpson was ranked No. 208 nationally in 2020.

Indianola Chamber launches new #ThinkIndianolaFirst game

Here's the first clue!

Play a new family-friendly interactive game that will have you exploring the city in a socially-distant way! #thinkindianolafirst #findingnola

Make sure you "like" @IndianolaChamberofCommerce on Facebook so you don't miss a thing!

Each week, the photo with the most likes will receive a $25 Hy-Vee Gift card. Every photo receives one entry into a Grand Prize drawing for a gift basket filled with gift cards and other local business goodies.

Donations still needed!  We're looking for businesses to donate items or gift cards of $10 or more for the grand prize basket. As we get closer to the end of the contest, we'll be promoting what's in the basket – so make sure you're included!

2020 Emerging Business of the Year – Feed + Foster
Indianola now boasts a beautiful store on the west side of the Square. The opening of this business was inspired by fond memories of family gatherings and their hope for all of us to bring our families and friends together to build those memories. 2020 Steven G. Pfeifer Volunteer of the Year Award – Jim Fromm
According to the nomination, Jim has been a hot air balloon pilot in Indianola for over 30 years and while he has made a significant impact on the sport of ballooning, and the National Balloon Classic, it is his kindness, community spirit, and commitment that define him. She's the "glue that has helped people be their best." Indianola Community School district's technology integration coach Ali Sauter's understanding of technology and personal attributes has provided both the technical and emotional support teachers have needed during the most challenging months in their careers.
