About Field of Dreams
Field of Dreams Rescue is a publicly funded, all volunteer, NO KILL humane organization founded in 2007. Dogs and cats are accepted on a space-available basis into our own foster homes where they receive medical care, socialization, love, and training so they will be ready for their permanent adoptive homes. Through our community assistance programs, we educate, promote spay/neuter efforts, and provide assistance to help people with their cats and dogs.
Through our Pet Food Pantry, temporary assistance is available to individuals in the community who are in need of food for their pets. The Pet Food Pantry is held twice monthly. And in conjunction with the Pet Food Pantry, Field of Dreams Rescue offers financial assistance to those who are unable to afford to have their pet spayed or neutered.
Kirksville TNR Trap-Neuter-Release Program This is a collaborative effort between KV-POP and Field of Dreams Rescue to help reduce the number of feral and homeless cats in our community. There are simply not enough homes for all of the kittens born each year. Their fates are too often illness, being hit by cars, abused, or euthanized. These community or feral cats are everywhere. With the help of our volunteers, we can humanely trap them have them spayed/neutered and vaccinated -before returning them to where they were found. Our goal is to help end the overpopulation of homeless cats by preventing their ability to reproduce. The more we can spay/neuter, the fewer homeless kittens in our neighborhoods.
