Our extensive 45-mile system connects key destinations, including the Sonoma County Airport area, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma, Novato, San Rafael, and Larkspur. As part of our commitment to sustainable mobility, SMART proudly features a bicycle and pedestrian pathway along the rail corridor, fostering a multimodal approach to transportation. Future extensions planned for Windsor, Healdsburg, and Cloverdale aim to expand our reach, ultimately creating a comprehensive 70-mile passenger rail service network.
At SMART, inclusivity is a cornerstone of our service. We prioritize accessibility for all passengers, ensuring our platforms and trains fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). From ADA-compliant Clipper Card vending machines to accessible restrooms and seating on SMART trains, we strive to make every journey convenient and comfortable for everyone. Our onboard personnel are ready to assist with onboarding, exiting the train, and any additional needs, reflecting our commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive transit experience.
Embracing alternative and eco-friendly transportation, SMART welcomes bicycles on board. Each two-car SMART train is equipped with spaces for up to 24 bikes, and our stations offer bike storage options, including racks and secured lockers. In our pursuit of sustainable partnerships, SMART is actively exploring collaborations to introduce bike-sharing programs near select stations, promoting a greener and healthier community.
Families are an integral part of our passenger community, and we've tailored our services to accommodate them seamlessly. Children under the age of 5 ride for free, while youth aged 5 to 18 enjoy a 50% discount, ensuring affordability for families. Safety is paramount, and we kindly ask that young children be supervised, and strollers be clear of the aisle when seated and the train is in motion.
