Director's Corner

Hello Members,
I hope that everyone and every business has had a productive and profitable summer so far.  Things may have slowed a bit, but with school going back into session and the fall colors on their way, we should see another wave of fall visitors beginning around Labor Day.

After such a busy time with so many varied and interesting folks coming through town, it is inevitable that business owners reflect on the summer and how things can be done differently or even better next summer.  If any Chamber member has ideas on events, attractions, or just suggestions that could benefit Leadville or Lake County, please feel free to suggest them to the Chamber of Commerce.  There are a lot of resources and interested and active people in this community, and your idea could end up being the next Big Thing!  So don't be bashful, and talk about your ideas with folks and bring them to the Chamber if you would like.

The Chamber is currently planning Leadville's inaugural BBQ competition in June of 2015, and you will hear more about that as we progress through the City's permit and public hearing process.  It should be a great event for Leadville that will kick off the busy summer season, so your support of this event as local businesspeople will be appreciated.  Local sponsorship opportunities will also be available, so stay tuned!

Thank you for your involvement in the Chamber and in our business community, and for being a member of the Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce.

The Tabor Opera House last 2014 performance this Saturday!

The Tabor Opera House is hosting its last performance of the 2014 Season this Saturday Night, August 23rd!!

RETURNING FOR A REPEAT PERFORMANCE...

August 23rd, at 7:30pm FEAST Irish band with Champion Irish Dancers will rock the house with their amazing energy and talent.  FEAST’s spectacular Irish music and dance show, “Celtica Sinfonia”, sold out all venues in March 2009 and was filmed by Rocky Mountain PBS during their performance at the prestigious Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek (FEAST was immediately engaged by the Vilar for the following season!) The film aired March 2010, just as FEAST was performing “Celtica Sinfonia II”, an all-new program, to over 2500 wildly enthusiastic people in three cities. The show was again filmed by Rocky Mountain PBS, this time in high-def, with plans to shoot for a national airing. Celtica Sinfonia was meanwhile submitted for an Emmy. In addition to numerous concerts in Colorado, Montana, and New Mexico, FEAST has twice toured Germany with great success. 2011 saw the group touring with another new show, KeltikFyre, and in 2012 another hit show, Irish Thunder.

In honor of the Leadville community, admission has been priced at 50% off (from $30 to $15 for general admission) to allow everyone an opportunity to celebrate our last performance at the opera house together.

General Admission Adults $15

Limited number of VIP tickets available $45: includes prime reserved seating, private wine and cheese reception prior to the show and a “meet and greet” on-stage after the show.
