We are also excited to announce that the Leadville Film Commission has joined the Chamber! Doug Smith started the Leadville Film Commission as a result of growing interest in filming at 10,200 feet!  They were recently designated as a 501 (c )(3). It's Leadville History Month! Be sure to participate in one of the Leadville History Month events or take a dive into Leadville history at one of our many historic locations.  Leadville is rich in history and there is something for everyone!

Visit the National Mining Hall of Fame! Open Tuesday-Sunday 9 AM - 5 PM. 

The Library is hosting a presentation on the historic Ice Palace on April 19th at 6:30 PM. 











Keep an eye out for the City of Leadville's Historic Preservation Commission Leadville history Month projects that include highlighting Dairy's in Leadville history, as well as the history of the buildings on historic Harrison Avenue.

The Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce is gathering products/promotions/items for a Leadville Chamber Basket! These baskets will be sold at the Visitor Center and other local events to promote our Leadville/Lake County Businesses.  If you have any items you would like included in the baskets, please contact the Director, Bethany Maher, at leadville@leadvilleusa.com.  Wea re hoping to gather a few of each item as donation to get the baskets started and then purchase products from the businesses in the future to continue selling these  They will make great presents and will be a great way to get a sampling of the unique business offerings in Leadville/Lake County! Our Chamber Member, Basket Detectives 2, will be assembling the Baskets! It's time for Board Elections! Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce Board Members are elected for 2 year terms.  There are 4 seats up for re-election this year.  In order to run for a seat, you must be a member of the board and you also must be a member to vote.  If you are interested in running for a seat on the board, you must return your Bio to the Director by Monday April 10th, 2017.  Ballots will go out to all members by Monday April 17th, 2017.  The ballots must be returned to People's bank with your choices by close of business on Monday April 24, 2017.  The top 4 candidates will earn a seat on the board of directors.  Once the board seats are filled, the board ill elect officers.  Announcements will be made at the Business After Hours on April 27th!

Are you looking for a fun and rewarding summer job, or know someone who is? The Visitor Center is looking for 2-3 Ambassadors for the summer season!  Ambassadors are paid $10/hour, paid weekly and get to work in an exciting atmosphere, meeting new people, talking about Leadville history and businesses, and in a fun & flexible seasonal place to work! We have openings beginning in early May! Please contact the Director at 719-293-5044.  

Do you have any marketing materials or information you'd like to get to visitors? As we prepare for the busy summer season, we want to make sure we have as much material available at the Leadville/Lake County Visitor Center so we can best inform visitors of the options of all of the wonderful Leadville/Lake County businesses during their stays.  Please contact me to arrange for pick up, or drop off your materials at the Visitor Center at your convenience!

Business After Hours will be hosted by Alpine Furniture and co-hosted by Re Plus Designs this month on Thursday April 27th, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Alpine Furniture 1609 N Poplar St.  I, your director,  will be out of town, running a marathon in Big Sur, California that night so I will not be able to make it, but the Chamber Board Members will be there and we will be announcing the results of the Board Elections as well!

The 2017 BBQ & Brew Festival will be held on June 23rd & 24th, 2017! The Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce would like to give all businesses the opportunity to participate in this event! Please contact the director to discuss options so you can make the most out of this event for your local business! 

The Chamber will also be hosting a Business Training specific to this event in May.. more details coming soon! 

The Chamber has applied for a Temporary Use Permit with the City of Leadville for this event.  If you would like to show up to support the event, the hearing will be held on Tuesday April 18th, 2017 at 6:30 PM.
