Updates and Member Promotions

It's THIS FRIDAY!

The Chamber of Commerce is excited about our Annual Meeting 2013. We will be celebrating 100 years as a Chamber!
Join us this Friday May 17th, for a great Birthday celebration!

We  want to thank our sponsors Climax Molybdenum and the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum!
There is still time to RSVP!  Please call the Chamber at 719-486-3900 to reserve your spot.  Walk-ins on Friday evening are also welcome.

An unqualified success!

As many of you experienced when attending last weeks "Give 'em The Pickle" customer service improvement seminar by Kerry Robertson, the feedback and comments the Chamber has received have been very positive!

The Chamber was very excited to partner with Climax Molybdenum, The National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum's Convention Center, St. Vincent General Hospital and Silver King Inn & Suites to bring Kerry Robertson to Leadville.

She provided both a morning and an afternoon session to around 80 people that focused on ways that front line personnel can turn your customers into Raving Fans of your business and Leadville/Lake County in general.
For those of you who did not attend, we are strongly considering having her return next year for a repeat performance.  Customer Service is always important, and almost always can be improved.  The Spring off-season was a good time for this presentation, and we believe that we could double attendance for next year, so we'll keep you informed.

A brief introduction

For those Chamber of Commerce members that I have not yet met, my name is Jeff McGuinness, and I am currently directing the activities of the Leadville/Lake County Chamber at the request of the Board of Directors.  I am excited to be in the position and look forward to meeting each and every one of you as soon as I can.  If I don't meet you at this Friday's annual meeting, please consider stopping by the Chamber for an introduction.  I will also be working my way out to your business to do the same.

The Chamber is very excited to be presenting its 100th Birthday Party celebration and annual meeting this Friday, May 17th, in the ballroom of the Mining Museum.  Please read through this announcement for more details.  See you there!        Jeff

Howard Tritz to provide a Chamber history at 100th Birthday Party!

Not that you needed another reason to attend, but...
The Chamber is proud to announce that Howard Tritz has agreed to provide a brief history of the Chamber's storied 100 years (and maybe longer).

If you know Howard, you know his knowledge of Leadville is deep, informative, and entertaining, and his narrative is sure to live up to that and possibly provide a few surprises you may not have been aware of.

Please join us Friday evening for this Chamber history and the loads of fun and great activities that have always been a part of the Chamber's party and annual meeting.

We'll see you there!

No Business After Hours in May

Due to the Annual Meeting this Friday, May 17th, there will not be a Business After Hours in May.  We will continue with our regular schedule on June 27th, 2013, when the B.A.H. will be hosted by the Healy House and Dexter Cabin.  Please plan on joining your fellow chamber members at this historic location which is also one of the museums on the Leadville Museum Passport.

More information about the June Business After Hours will be forthcoming, but please save the date and plan on attending!

Please note that the Collegiate Peaks Forum Series will be hosting a future Business After Hours, and if you would like information about this great Arkansas Valley-based lecture series, please visit www.collegiatepeaksforum.org .
