Director's Corner

Hello Members,
I hope that everyone has survived the winter, and although the calendar says that it is spring, I know that the snow in everyone's yards can still be measured in feet.  So celebrate the last bit of skiing and winter activities and start thinking ahead to warm-weather visitors heading our way.

As you all know, the Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit entity that relies on membership dues and fundraising to continue its mission of assisting and supporting the business community in our region.  Although Chamber membership continues to grow, we also rely on the fundraising component to round out the funding we need to continue the activities the Chamber is involved in throughout the year.

Along those lines, the 2014 Chamber of Commerce Annual Reception will be held on Saturday, May 17th at the Leadville Elk's Lodge and will feature an accompanying Casino Night.  The Chamber's Annual Reception is one of our primary fundraisers during the year, and this year we hope to combine that spirit with a ton of fun, gambling and great prizes.

Please think about attending this annual event and enjoy some leisure time (and networking if you are inclined) with your fellow businesspeople and community members, and bring whomever else you would like for an enjoyable evening.  If you cannot attend, please consider donating a product or service for the many prizes during the evening, or choose to donate money that will be used to purchase some great prize packages.  Your contribution, financial or otherwise, is appreciated and will help the Chamber continue to play a prominent role in the Leadville and Lake County community.

I thank you again for all for your involvement in the Chamber and in the business community, and for being a member of the Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce.
Jeff McGuinness
Director
