Joel Racker, President & CEO of Utah Valley

Joel Racker is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Explore Utah Valley (formerly known as the Utah Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau), in Provo. He has held this position for 16 years. Explore Utah Valley is the official destination marketing organization for Utah County, Utah. Prior to joining Explore Utah Valley, Joel was employed with Marriott International of Bethesda, Maryland for 17 years. Throughout his hospitality career he has held Sales & Marketing and General Management positions in Maryland, Arizona, Virginia and Nevada. From 2010 to 2017 Joel served on the Governor’s Board of Tourism Development for the State of Utah - six years as Chair. He is a past-President of the Destination Marketing Association of the West (DMAWest) is currently serving as the Vice-Chair for the Utah Tourism Industry Association (UTIA) and is a member of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors. Joel holds bachelor’s degree of science from Brigham Young University in Business Management/Marketing. He and his wife, Stacy, reside in Highland, UT and are the parents of four children and one amazingly sweet & beautiful 6-month-old granddaughter!
