About Us
Ponderosa Montessori School, formerly Sage Montessori, has provided children of Los Alamos, White Rock, and Northern New Mexico with quality Montessori environments since 1971.
Dr. Montessori's educational method provides a child-centered environment carefully designed to meet the learning styles and needs of children. "Never let children risk failure until they have a reasonable chance of success."(Maria Montessori)
Ponderosa Montessori School classrooms are led by a certified Montessori teacher. We provide caring environments for:
- Infants (6 wks - 1 yr),
- Toddlers (1 - 2 yrs),
- Transitional Early Childhood (2 - 4 yrs),
- Early Childhood (3 - 6yrs),
- Elementary (K - 5), and
- After-school (K-6).
Ponderosa Montessori School is an American Montessori Society (AMS) affiliate school licensed by New Mexico Children, Youth, & Family Department (CYFD) and recognized by the State of New Mexico Department of Education.
