Going Green Commitments

• Our company is installing a greywater reuse system to enable us to save water in our landscape irrigation. The system will collect and treat water from sinks, showers, tubs, dishwasher and washing machine and treat it on-site. This water is lightly contaminated and a great resource.
• This system will allow us to include a aesthetically pleasing water feature within our landscape that uses reuse water. The water feature will operate at the holding pond for treated water until the landscaping requires watering. This system has the potential to save about 675-gal of potable water per week (2700 gal/month) from being disposed of into our sewer system. This will allow us to have more plants and landscaping that utilize CO2 (a greenhouse gas) in respiration and produce O2. Our landscaping will also collect the sun's rays for photosynthesis instead of reflecting it back onto our house, driveway, etc. This will reduce the urban heat island effect locally in our yard which will help us save money on electricity bills which further reduces the CO2 generated in making electricity to cool our house. Further power costs will be realized since we will use less water from our water provider and thus require less pumping to get water to our home for landscaping use.
