Campaign to MAYNtain

The Lunch Buddy program this past school year linked adults with nearly 65 K-6th grade students. A Lunch Buddy eats lunch on school campus weekly with a student to encourage, listen, and have fun!
The Career Mentor program this past year connected adult volunteers with 36 7-12th grade students. Students leave school during a free school hour to interact with the mentor and are encouraged and supported through face-to-face communication and job shadowing. Weekly meetings help students to recognize the value of continuing their education through high school and beyond.
The Marshall Leadership Team (MLT) has continued to connect youth and adults to leadership education and service. This upcoming school year, the MLT student advisory committee will help organize and host five programs offered to Marshall High school students. Each program is specific to the corresponding grade, with one program specific to leaders in various organizations, clubs, and sports in the high school.
BAC/GAP program which stands for Boys are Cool and Girls are Powerful, is a wonderful workshop that is held for those in 5th and 6th grade. In 2017, we expanded these programs to include 3rd and 4th grade. These workshops touch on preteen issues while playing games, interacting with friends, and participating with hands-on activities.
Kelsey O’Rourke, Director of MAYN, anticipates an exciting and rewarding upcoming school year. MAYN works close with the Marshall Schools ensuring the best possible programs are offered to the students. To learn more about MAYN and the programs offered, visit www.maynmentors.org.
MAYN relies solely on local donations from the community and funding from the United Way of the Wabash Valley.   MAYN continues to make a difference in the lives of our youth, but your assistance is needed in sustaining our distinct programming
Contact the MAYN office at 826-2900 if you have any questions or would like more information regarding tickets. Thank you for your willingness and support!
