From the Directors Desk: In January, we were awarded a $500 Regional Capacity Building Micro grant through Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation to complete a Strategic Plan. In April and May, the Board of Directors met for an extended board meeting to complete a strategic plan. Many great ideas came out of the sessions, so be on the look out for big things from your Chamber of Commerce! I will be attending the Illinois Economic Development conference this month and anticipate making some great connections. I would like to say thank you to those that attended the Community Update- we feel our investors should be on the forefront of community news. We hope you like our new format, by meeting more than once a year at the Chamber Appreciation Breakfast and learning more than whats happening at the Chamber of Commerce office. I hope to see many of you at the unveiling of the world's largest gavel and first summer movie series, The Greatest Showman tomorrow on June 1st. Have a great summer!
