From the Directors Desk:

In January, we were awarded a $500 Regional Capacity Building Micro grant through Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation to complete a Strategic Plan. In April and May, the Board of Directors met for an extended board meeting to complete a strategic plan.  Many great ideas came out of the sessions, so be on the look out for big things from your Chamber of Commerce!
I will be attending the Illinois Economic Development conference this month and anticipate making some great connections.
I would like to say thank you to those that attended the Community Update- we feel our investors should be on the forefront of community news.  We hope you like our new format, by meeting more than once a year at the Chamber Appreciation Breakfast and learning more than whats happening at the Chamber of Commerce office.
I hope to see many of you at the unveiling of the world's largest gavel and first summer movie series, The Greatest Showman tomorrow on June 1st.
Have a great summer!

Help Change Our Community

Do you want to help the United Way change our community?! Join us to learn more about how you can help!

We are looking for eager volunteers to help our Annual Resource Drive.  Each fall, United Way of the Wabash Valley partners with individuals, local businesses and organizations to raise funds that will help our community to create a brighter future for everyone. Our annual Resource Drive builds our community impact fund to drive us toward our new bold goal of moving 10,000 families out of financial struggles and into stability!

Do any of these sound like you or someone you know?
• Passionate about our mission and interested in volunteering on this committee?
• Looking to make a difference in the community and willing to connect UWWV to a company/business?
• Want to network with key businesses?

If you think you might be interested in lending your expertise and energy to help United Way of the Wabash Valley expand campaign efforts and provide guidance to the workplace Employee Campaign Coordinators (ECC), join us for one of the two Lunch and Learn sessions.

For more information contact Danielle at disbell@uwwv.org or 812-235-6287 or RSVP here.
