Holiday Kick off 2019

The holiday season is a time to create memories, both young and old, it’s a time to be in the spirit of sharing and giving.

If you notice communities around us are hosting HUGE events to kick off the holiday season, and I believe it is time for the community of Marshall to come together and give the community what is deserves to kick start the holiday season. I have attached the holly day ads from the last several years and you will notice 1 thing, we have been doing the same thing for years! I have collected what other communities have been doing from miles away, in hopes Marshall can create a spectacular holiday celebration. Join us on July 9th at 10am in the chamber board room to discuss plans on the 2019 event. Many ideas will be on the agenda, possible name change, redesign of promotional material, adding/deleting events, other ideas to include the community, date/time and more businesses. The meeting will last no more than 1 hour. Please forward this invitation to interested parties.

From the Director's Desk:

Happy 4th of July!
June was a whirlwind month! I would like to first say thank you to everyone that supported the first ever Fit Foodie Tri. It was a massive success, thanks to all our sponsors, food trucks, athletes and every volunteer. We look forward to next year!

So many moving parts are happening in the Chamber office. We will begin looking for an administrative assistant/membership coordinator later this month.  The job is 12-15 hours a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 10am-2pm with some help needed when we host events. A full job description will be available mid July.  Economic Development projects are keeping everyone on their toes, not to mention keeping up with the awesome traffic at the Marshall Community Pool, if you haven't visited, your missing out.

We are gearing up for the community update, annual golf outing, scarecrow contest, trunk or treat/Frolic, chamber appreciation breakfast and holly days.  We hope to revamp our holiday kick off celebration this year! 14 more lions are being painted and we hope to have them all out by the end of the year.  We will then revamp our brochure to include all 40 lions and 24 murals!

Hope everyone is enjoying summer!
