Founded by Allyson O'Connor, MA, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and Life Coach, the company is dedicated to providing mental health counseling, diagnosis and treatment, addiction treatment alternatives, and teen mentorship. Allyson's journey towards healing has been colorful and transformative. From earning her nurse's assistant certification at a young age to providing palliative care for terminally ill individuals in different parts of the world for over 15 years, she has witnessed beautiful stories of life amidst pain. Her quest for healing led her to explore plant medicines across Mexico and the Amazon River while also receiving formal training in mental illness diagnosis and treatment.
At O'Connor Counseling Services and Alternatives, the focus extends beyond traditional models of treatment. While acknowledging the importance of medical necessity for insurance coverage purposes, Allyson also offers alternative approaches that shift the focus from illness to other interconnected aspects such as nutrition, social relationships, creativity, spirituality, and more. By incorporating knowledge of epigenetics and neuroplasticity into her practice, she empowers individuals with the understanding that they can heal themselves.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Allyson enjoys hobbies such as gardening, horseback riding, falconry, and making healthy food taste good. She has also worked as a live-in caretaker and Large Predator Trainer with big cats at Wild Eyes Photography Adventures in Montana. Her diverse experiences include studying real estate and living on a permaculture in Mexico.
