Lockheed Martin brings new jobs to Cape Canaveral
Cape Canaveral facility to experience a 20% growth in workforce by 2017

Early this morning, Gov. Rick Scott announced that Lockheed Martin will expand its workforce in Brevard County, Florida; bringing 130 new jobs by 2017 to support the US Navy’s Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile program in Cape Canaveral.

The announcement was made in the state’s pavilion at the Paris Air Show in France. During his announcement, Governor Scott said, “We are thrilled to be at the Paris Air Show to announce new jobs at Lockheed Martin. These 130 new jobs mean Florida families will have even more opportunity to get a great job. More than 865,000 new private-sector jobs have been added statewide in the last 4 ½ years and we’re here in Paris to make sure aerospace and defense companies from around the world know Florida is the best state in the U.S. for job creation.”

Project Eagle has landed in Titusville
Embraer brings new manufacturing operation to Spaceport Commerce Park

June 15th at the International Paris Air Show, Governor Rick Scott announced Embraer will construct a new building in the Spaceport Commerce Park in Titusville, Florida. The project, known locally as Project Eagle during the site selection process, will bring 150 new jobs to the area; with an average wage of $48,000 annually.

“Embraer’s footprint in Florida continues to grow and we are excited to announce this additional investment and creation of new jobs in our state,” said Florida Governor Rick Scott. “By removing the sales tax on manufacturing equipment last year, we are signaling to businesses across the world that Florida has a competitive advantage over other locations, and companies like Embraer know that our state is the best place to grow and create jobs. We are here in Paris today to share our success with companies from across the world, and we will continue to do all we can to make Florida the global destination for jobs.”
